Debian update
Published January 1st, 2006 in TechI’ve put my free time in profit to fiddle a bit my debian servers.
Recently I had a huge spam load in my inbox : it’s the first time that I had found a hole in the greylists solutions I’m using.
I wanted to use hashcash, dcc, razor and pyzor but I found out that spam assassin included them. So I fiddled spam assassin for the first time.
I’ve was really surprised by the little confidence that spam assassin puts in razor. I multiplied its default weights by 3 in local.cf
score RAZOR2CHECK 0 1.5 0 1.5
score RAZOR2CFRANGE51_100 0 1.5 0 1.5
Second point I’ve been using logwatch for more than year but I’ve found logcheck to be complementary. I’m still tuning the mail frequency but I’m already using it to block filthy SSH connection attempts.
Finally I’ve also found funny that debian packages includes tags. Sure it’s useful but that’s folksonomy!
