Old school way of fragging people: bzFlag

To present this game, lets say it was first programmed in 1992 in an SGI environnement[[this should perfectly demonstrate that SIG stations where the most advanced graphic tools, at that time]]. The game was based on basic catch the flag rules, using 3D tanks to move on the battlefield. Tanks abilities were improved by finding some flags: you can become stealth, pass the obstacle, improve your gunnery to a laser or guided missile as well as catch a bad flag jamming your radar or giving you momentum.

Then, the game turned to be a simple {kill them all} game: player enjoy justing fragging each others in the arena and I must say there so good. Some of them are able to lock you even while jumping or can kill me by firing an simple bullet.

And what really gives the game its taste, is that in less than 1 minute you can find a server to play on. In fact the whole look-up process is including in the game, so you can find in a glimpse bloody-buddies to fight with (if you are not playing on local network with friends).

Last but not least, this game is available on Mac OS X, Linux, Irix, FreeBSD, Solaris, and Windows. So your friends won’t have any excuses not to play. - [bZFlag->http://bzflag.org] - [Project History->http://bzflag.org/wiki/ProjectHistory]
